Vail mountain topography display
KH Webb was custom designing a residential home in Vail, CO. Their clients are avid outdoors people, and enjoy the year round recreating available in the Vail Valley. The architect wanted to incorporate a custom trail map into their dedicated ski locker room. The 3D map needed to feature an expansive area, including Vail Mountain’s winter ski runs and local summer hiking trails.
LGM acquired several satellite images of the area during different times of year, and blended them into one cohesive trail map. Summer trails are presented alongside powder filled ski runs in the detailed topography display. The mountainous terrain of the area is shown in full color, offering insight to the snow capped peaks and names of local features.
